Britain braces for Red Warning as Storm Eunice approaches

Waves lash Brighton Pier ahead of Storm Eunice

The met office in Britain has issued a Red Warning as Storm Eunice approaches.

It is the second such extreme weather warning in a matter of days after Storm Dudley left tens of thousands of homes without power and disrupted travel services.

Winds gusting up to as high as 90 mph are expected to sweep across parts of southwest England and south Wales during the day.

Yellow warnings have been issued across many other parts of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, with winds up to 75 mph expected.
