Work on the Gozo Aquatic and Sports Center is in full swing – iron roof trusses and space frames will be installed on the Olympic swimming pool

Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri visited the new Aquatic and Sports Center which is being built in the city of Victoria and which will lead to Gozo having an aquatic and sports complex in the heart of the island for the first time.

The minister said, “Work on this center, which covers an area of about 5,000 square meters, is in full swing. Much work has been done in recent months on the interior of the project including internal partitions, mechanical and electrical works and the lining and gutters of the Olympic swimming pool. In addition, key structural elements have been installed such as the side of the ‘bridge’ leading from the entrance directly to the outdoor sports facilities. That way, iron roof trusses and space frames could now be placed on the pool. ”

He said that the Gozitan people will benefit from this project, while easing the burden of many current Gozitan water polo athletes, who have to cross to Malta every day for training.
