The Ministry of Social Affairs has sealed another agreement with the Jean Antide Foundation, with funding of around € 200,000 for the next three years. This agreement is being made in the light of another existing social agreement with the foundation, which provides assistance to victims of domestic violence.
A separate agreement was signed on Tuesday afternoon to help vulnerable families. Moreover, professionals have a greater ability to identify families facing challenges. Through this residence in Ħal Tarxien, a number of education services and even legal aid are provided where needed.
Minister Michael Falzon reiterated the government’s commitment to continue establishing such agreements with organizations that do so much good in the community. He said such exercises would help keep more people safe and away from the risk of poverty and social exclusion. In addition, they help build confidence and resilience.
“This government will never hesitate to give the help it needs, without prejudice. It is important that we continue our outreach in order to continue helping families and children to live a life without unnecessary burdens or worries, ”said Minister Michael Falzon.
The Chief Executive of the Jean Antide Foundation, Nora Macelli, spoke about the importance of intervening in time before it is too late and further complicating social situations. In recent years, the foundation has helped about 7,000 individuals and over 4,000 families.
