Naxxar mayor Anne Marie Muscat Fenech Adami has refused to resign on a conflict of interest issue despite being told to do so by the Nationalist Party.
The issue concerns her and the councils approval for controversial plans to build two apartment towers in the former Trade Fair ground.
PN leader Bernard Grech had called for her to resign but she refused saying that in her opinion there was no conflict of interest.
