Hibernians have opened a massive eight point lead at the top of the BOV Premier League following their 3-1 win over Gzira Utd at the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Sunday.
It was visitors Gzira who forged ahead inside five minutes when from a corner, Maxuell Maia da Silva headed past goalkeeper Ibrahim Kone.
That lead lasted until the half hour mark when Jurgen Degabriele’s close range effort put Hibs level.
Hibs upped the pressure after the break and inside the hour went ahead after fine work by Jake Grech set up Debabriele for his second of the game.
Gzira did create several chances but Hibs defence kept them at bay.
The premier leaders were not done as Degabriele this time turned provider for Jake Grech who slammed past Darijan to seal the win and send Hibernians eight points clear at the top.
