Third phase of the BLUEfasma project launched

The Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries, Food and Animal Rights Anton Refalo participated in a conference organized by the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture, as the capitalization phase was launched today. , the last part of the BLUEfasma project. At the same time, World Fisheries Day was also commemorated, which will be celebrated on Sunday 21 November.

The BLUEfasma project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund through the Interreg MED Program 2014-2020.

During this project, the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture organized three events, one as an introduction to the social partners project held in October 2020, and the second one held in May passed, what is called the BLUEfasma Living Labs. These events took place over two days together with all the social partners involved in the blue circular economy in the fisheries and aquaculture sector.

Minister Anton Refalo explained how, “The aim of the BLUEfasma project is to strengthen the innovation capacity of small and medium-sized enterprises, fishermen, maritime groups and networks in the Mediterranean islands and coastal areas, to support the growth of the blue circular economy in fisheries and aquaculture. BLUEfasma integrates and implements circular economy principles in the key sector of blue economic growth in fisheries and aquaculture, to benefit the insular and coastal area of the MED in a new and innovative way. ”
