Shaun Dimech scored twice in the first five minutes as Valletta defeated Santa Lucia 5-3 at the Centenary Stadium on Saturday.
Jurgen Pisani reduced the deficit before Eslit Sala made it 3-1 for Valletta in added time.
Nicholas Pulis struck for Sta Lucia shortly after the restart to make it 3-2 but goals from Mario Fontanello and Ivan Curjuric extended Valletta’s lead.
Vito Plut added third for Sta Lucia in the dying moments but Valletta claimed the win to move up to third place.
