PM announces multi-million investment by Seifert Systems

Prime Minister Robert Abela announces a new multi-million investment in Seifert Systems expansion.

An investment of € 8 million by the international company Seifert Systems will lead to the resumption of the manufacturing sector in our country on board a digital transformation that will not only generate new prosperity, but create a better quality of life for Maltese citizens. and Gozitans.

An investment that, while paving the way for more sustainable manufacturing, will also translate into 100 new quality employment opportunities in our country.

In his speech, Prime Minister Robert Abela said that this project accurately reflects the vision of this government in the environmental field and the country we want to leave for our children.

“In our political work we have set ambitious goals to become a carbon-neutral society by 2050. Therefore, we can only achieve this goal if we collectively with the private sector make the necessary changes and change the way we live and work.”

Dr. Abela noted how Seifert Systems has chosen to carry out this environmental transformation in our country from all the countries in which it operates in order to achieve its ambitious goals.

“The € 8 million investment being announced today shows that this achievement can be achieved because the Government is constantly incentivising more factories and businesses to change the way they operate. Seifert Systems’ investment is a clear testament to why we must continue to invest in our industries. “

Therefore, when we help the private sector, we are ultimately helping employers, employees and the community in which it operates. ”

The Prime Minister also noted how the human resource was, is and will remain the best resource that this country has and therefore this government will continue to invest in its people. In fact, in recent months, our country has been confirmed as one of three European countries where the employment rate has increased and not decreased.

Dr Abela concluded by saying that this investment deserves the full trust of the government and acknowledged how Seifert Systems is a beacon of success for our country, a company that has shown resilience and is creating new prosperity for our children.

Chief Executive of Seifert Systems, Michael Seifert, said that since the establishment of the operation in our country in 1991, today the company in Malta can be considered as the largest one. within the whole Group.

“The same small business that my father started years ago, has now grown into a company that is offering high quality jobs to about 300 people,” said Mr. Seifert.

In this context he said that he is very proud of the fact that the manufacture of the product takes place from start to finish in Malta, thanks to the excellent abilities that this sector offers.

“We are constantly exploring how to eradicate the negative impact on the environment through our sustainable operation and we are pleased to announce that Seifert Systems has been audited and certified as a carbon-neutral manufacturing facility.

Mr. Seifert also stated why our country was the natural choice for this infrastructural expansion to take place.
