Prime Minister Robert Abela is on his way to Brussels to attend a European Council Summit.
The two day Summit will begin on Thursday afternoon and continue tomorrow morning.
European leaders will be discussing the energy crisis, as electricity bills in several countries across the European Union have risen alarmingly, due to the pandemic.
The 27 leaders of the European Union countries will be discussing the proposals made by the European Commission on this subject last week.
Upon his arrival, the Prime Minister attended a preparatory meeting of the Party of European Socialists where the leaders discussed the main topics to be addressed during the Council including the pandemic, immigration, digital transformation and the rule of law.
