Laboratory for Agricultural Services inaugurated

Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries, Food and Animal Rights Anton Refalo launches newly refurbished laboratory at the Agriculture Research and Innovation Hub

Following a renovation process, the Agricultural Services Laboratory located in the Agricultural Research and Innovation Hub was inaugurated. The inauguration was made by the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries, Food and Animal Rights Anton Refalo. The laboratory was set up over forty years ago and offers a service to the farming community. Over time, the demand of farmers for soil and irrigation water testing has grown and thus the restructuring of the laboratory has been of great importance.

Minister Anton Refalo said that, through a measure of the 2020 Budget, the Ministry has allocated the sum of € 200,000 in order to improve the infrastructure with investment in this laboratory that offers such an important service in our country. . This work further emphasizes the government’s commitment to this sector. Today in Malta we have a laboratory equipped with everything that is necessary and the work can be done in a more adequate environment and above all it also safeguards the health of the workers.
