PM in pre-Budget meeting with Chamber of Commerce

At the Auberge de Castille, Prime Minister Robert Abela met with representatives of the Chamber of Commerce.

This is part of the consultation process on the Budget for next year, which will be presented on the 11th of October.

The Chamber of Commerce presented a document of one hundred and ninety-six proposals, the aim of which is to address the challenges caused by the pandemic.

During the meeting, the President of the Chamber of Commerce Marisa Xuereb thanked the Government for the fact that at a time when the world was facing a pandemic, Maltese and Gozitan businesses found a Government that supported them.

Prime Minister Robert Abela said how such consultations are occasions on which the future of the country is being prepared.

Prime Minister Abela stressed that together we can design a work program that will turn these challenges into opportunities for our country.

Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive Marthese Portelli said how these proposals were made after consultation with all its members and thus reflect a wide range of businesses.
