Hibernians cruised past Sirens to go top of the BOV Premiership on goal difference above B’Kara who narrowly beat Balzan.
Hibs opened the scoring early in the first half when Man of the Match Aldama Thaylor’s cross was volleyed in by Jurgen Degabriele.
Minutes later it was 2-0 when Hibs were awarded a penalty after Ismahel Borg fouled Thaylor in the box and Jake Grech slotted past Jonathan Debono.
That is how it remained till half time.
After the break Sirens pushed forward more and created several half chances but failed to finish.
Just after the hour mark, a moment of confusion as referee Stefan Pace booked Raphael for a second time and showed him a red card. After consulting his linesman, the booking was overturned as it was not Raphael who had fouled a Sirens player.
Into the last ten minutes and Sirens finally found a gap in Hibs defence. Bogdan Gavrila, who earlier almost squeezed in from beside the post, pounced as Hibs failed to clear inside the box.
There was to be no grand finish for Sirens as Wilfried Domoraud’s header minutes later restored a two goal for Hibs.
