90% of Central Link is ready

During a visit to follow up the works and developments being carried out on the Central Link project, the Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects Ian Borg and the Parliamentary Secretary for European Funds Stefan Zrinzo Azzopardi announced that 90% of this project is complete.

Minister Ian Borg said, “With 90% of the project now complete, we will then be seeing to it that the process is continued in the wisest and safest way so that it can truly be another infrastructure investment such as Marsa Junction, where we will continue to improve people’s quality of life. It is worth noting that Central Link will be reducing travel time by 50% and, by 2030, will be contributing to a 66% reduction in air pollution. This means greener breathing and lungs and, in addition, will be another project, such as the Grand Harbor Clean Air Project, where it will contribute very effectively to a reduction in respiratory diseases, as the Central Link will be reducing nitrogen dioxide emissions by 41%.
