Ball of the August Moon 2021 held at the Verdala Palace in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation

This year’s edition of the Ball of the August Moon was held on Saturday evening at the Verdala Palace with the aim of raising funds for the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation (MCCFF).

This traditional annual event was held on a smaller scale and in full compliance with the health authorities’ guidelines in the fight against the spread of COVID-19. Although there was no dancing, patrons enjoyed an evening of food and music provided by the band of the Armed Forces of Malta, all for philanthropic purposes.

The Chairman of the Organising Committee, Marquis Daniel de Petri Testaferrata, thanked all those who supported this year’s edition of the Ball of the August Moon, particularly the sponsors.

President of Malta George Vella thanked the people who, despite the challenges brought about by COVID-19, continued to show solidarity with the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation and all other voluntary organisations. He explained how this help is crucial to continue to meet incoming requests.

President Vella also thanked all those who attended this year’s Ball which was the only annual event in aid of the MCCFF that could be held in the current circumstances.

He also thanked the sponsors, the Band of the Armed Forces of Malta, and the Cordia Ensemble.

He concluded by thanking the Organising Committee which, despite the current restrictions, made this year’s edition a success.

This was the third edition organised under the presidency of President George Vella and the second held under restrictions due to COVID-19.
