The Prime Minister Robert Abela, together with the Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri, inaugurated the Marsalforn waterfront project with an investment of € 3 million which forms part of the masterplan of this frequented and sought after beach. -Gozitans, Maltese, and tourists, this after the Marsqa part of Marsalforn was inaugurated in November.
Prime Minister Robert Abela described this project as one that provides for substantial parts of this area to be given to people with the aim of enjoying it for most of the times of the day.
In this context, the Prime Minister pointed out that in Gozo, jobs need to be created and the economy strengthened. This serves as a basis for further such projects.
“A country continues to grow if it invests in its people. Satisfied that in Gozo today we have the lowest number of people registering in history. Fifteen percent (15%) less than we had before the pandemic started. We must continue to invest in accessibility and infrastructure so that these businesses around us can continue to make a living for their families and the families of their workers, ”said the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister spoke about the future of Gozo and about the Government’s commitment to turn the challenges on this island into opportunities for Gozo to move forward.
“I encourage everyone to participate in the consultation on the strategy for Gozo. A document made for Gozo in Gozo itself. A process where ideas are really born out of the community. A model that I believe should be the basis of how a Government works. “
