Malta’s Neil Agius smashed the previous world record for the longest non-stop swim by swimming from Linosa to Gozo, a record of 125.6km completed in just over 52 hours.
34-year old Agius beat the existing record which had been set at 124.4km.
He is using his new world record to encourage people to help clean up the planet by collecting and recycling plastic.
