Opposition leader attacks PM over FATF and Joseph Muscat

PN Leader Bernard Grech

Opposition Leader Bernard Grech launched a lengthy attack on the government in the wake of the FATF decision to put Malta on notice. He also demanded that Prime Minister Robert Abela expel former prime minister Joseph Muscat from the Labour Party.

Speaking in Parliament this morning he said the increased monitoring by the Financial Action Task Force, FATF, was a result of Jospeh Muscat’s leadership and by not expelling him from the Labour Party, the Prime Minister was covering up for Muscat.

Grech said it was now five days since the FATF decision and still no sign of remedial action by the government.

He again called on the government to accept his proposal for a nation task force to work on getting Malta off the so-called grey list.
