Malta will revert to a previous format in organising a special festival to select the Eurovision Song entry.
The Chairman of the Valletta Cultural Agency, Jason Micallef confirmed the news on Facebook.
In recent years the winner of X Factor Malta has been chosen as the Eurovision entry.
