In accordance with the advice of the Attorney General and the Commissioner of Police, the Cabinet of Ministers today decided to advise the President of the Republic not to accede to the request for proclamation made on the 26th. April, Mr Alfred Degiorgio and Mr George Degiorgio.
The decision of the Cabinet is not only based on the advice of the relevant institutions, but is also taken in the national interest and in the interest of the proper administration of justice.
Minister Carmelo Abela challenged himself for the same reasons mentioned in the statement of the Government of Malta on another request for the proclamation, which was published on 19 April 2021.
The brothers, along with another man, have been charged with the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia.
