The second part of the ‘Towards Inclusive Broadcasting’ consultation – aimed at the visually impaired

A commitment to broadcasting to every member of society, regardless of challenges

The Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister Carmelo Abela together with the Minister for Inclusion and Quality of Life Julia Farrugia Portelli took part in the second part of the discussion ‘Towards Inclusive Broadcasting’, which dealt with how people with disabilities -light can be fully participants in the field of broadcasting of our country. The discussion follows what was held in March, then aimed at the deaf.

During this discussion several stakeholders, including the government, the national station, as well as organizations working for the inclusion of people with disabilities, spoke about how to make broadcasting more inclusive in the future. for people with disabilities.

During his speech, Minister Carmelo Abela said that improving the quality of broadcasting not only stops with improvements and investment in technology, but also includes the commitment that the programs broadcast on national stations reach everyone, including those who due to some lack of physical ability, have so far been prevented from following with the rest of society.
