At least 35 people are reported to have died as Israel increases airstrikes in response to rocket attacks by Palestine militants.
Israel’s prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu said “Hamas will pay a very heavy price for their belligerence.”
These latest attacks began following clashes between Israeli police and Palestinians at the al-Aqsa mosque at the weekend.
The mosque is one of Islam’s most revered locations,
Tensions had been rising as Palestinian were threatened with eviction from land claimed by Jewish settlers.
