Ħamrun Spartans’ striker Dodo Soares has been voted the ‘BOV Player of the Month’ for the third consecutive time during this season.
This season just over the Cape Verde-born player has proved to be a great asset in Ħamrun’s title winning side and their quest for their 8th League title in history.
Soares maintained his brilliant form during February, the final full month of competition prior to yet another abrupt termination to domestic action.
Four wins from four for Spartans during February, as they started off the month with a comprehensive 3-1 victory over Gudja United, followed with a 2-0 win result over in-form side then, Birkirkara, where Dodo dazzled for his side, in both matches scoring a brace and rewarded with the BOV Player of the match award.
Albeit not writing his name on the scoresheet, he also excelled in the other two wins for Ħamrun S. in February, by the skin of their teeth beating Balzan 3-2, also narrowly beating direct challengers Gżira United in a 2-1 score-line.
Dodo Soares was meant to receive this award during one of the matches scheduled for March, however with this season’s premature halt, the player has since left the country, so the club has recently received the trophy on his stead.
The player has chosen ‘The Little Sisters of the Poor’ to benefit from the charitable donation associated with this award.
