Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri was one of the keynote speakers addressing the 40th Annual General Meeting of the Conference of Maritime Peripheral Regions, the CPMR, held this week.
This year’s international event, which took place virtually, addressed, among other things, the enhancement of maritime life, the protection of biodiversity, and even the future of island tourism in the Union. Including Gozo.
In his speech, Minister Clint Camilleri reiterated the commitment of the Ministry for Gozo to continue working hand in hand with the CPMR and together to be a strong voice for the islands and regions at European level. The minister stressed that, “Our seas are a crucial resource for hundreds of people whose livelihoods depend on them, and therefore Malta and Gozo are ensuring sustainability in the fisheries sector.”
