During a visit to the residents of the Kordin Correctional Facility, the Minister of Interior, National Security and Law Enforcement Byron Camilleri and the Chief Executive of the LESA Agency Svetlick Flores, presented a donation of € 10,000 to the RISE Foundation. Funding was provided to enable the foundation to continue to carry out initiatives for prisoners seeking its services when they reach the end of their sentence.
“When we saw the good work that the foundation is doing, we felt that it is our duty as a ministry to continue to strengthen these types of projects because society can benefit from them,” said Minister Camilleri. He explained that when talking to residents he saw the importance of not judging anyone and that everyone deserved more opportunities in life. “This is one of the initiatives that the LESA Agency is taking to ensure that it invests back what it has brought into the community. That way we can really improve the lives of our communities, “he said.
