Training program launched for GPs and other professionals on services for the elderly and community care

The Ministry for the Elderly and Active Aging has launched an online training program for GPs and other health care professionals on all services related to community care, especially when it comes to the elderly.

In agreement with Dr. Wilfred Galea, the founder of the online Continuing Medical Education (CME30) programs, health professionals will be informed about the wide range of services (over 20 services) they can provide for holistic care of their patients.

“Through this training program that can be assisted from the comfort of their home we will provide the necessary tools for the best treatments for patients, especially the elderly. This is a useful strategy to keep healthcare professionals informed of any services that Active Aging and Community Care offers so that they can recommend them, ”said Minister Michael Farrugia.

Renzo De Gabriele, Chief Executive Officer of Active Aging and Community Care, explained that among the services offered which will be explained during this training are Commcare, Allied Health Home Services, -Respite Services, Dementia Intervention Team Services, home carer service, Home Geriatrics Service, Home Psychological Geriatrics Service and others.
