ARMS has successfully trained a further 50 workers in IT skills

50 workers at ARMS received their ECDL certification after sitting for the necessary training to gain new skills in the IT sector.

After a visit to ARMS workers in Luqa, Minister for Energy, Enterprise and Sustainable Development Miriam Dalli attended the awarding ceremony and congratulated the workers who strived to improve their knowledge in such an essential subject.

ARMS offer different training to its workers, depending on the skills that are needed in the various sections. Minister Dalli commended ARMS for striving to improve and update the skills of the workers.

“This will translate into a better experience for the company’s customers,” said Minister Dalli, noting that ARMS communicate with hundreds of peope daily and offers around 30 different services.

“This is a clear example that for a company to keep moving forward, so must its workers,” said Minister Dalli, noting that upskilling and reskilling of workers is often overlooked. In other instances, noted the Minister, there are people who believe that their time to learn new things has passed.

Minister Dalli encouraged investment in workers and encouraged workers not to be discouraged from attending new courses. “The more you improve your skills, the more you will reap personal and professional benefits, both today and in the future”, said the Minister.

When a company offers programmes to improve employees’ skills, it tends to retain its workers and attract new talent, observed the Minister.

Silvio Scerri, CEO ARMS Ltd, stressed the importance of investing in staff development. He explained that through this investment, employees improved their skills, and therefore customers will benefit from a better service.
