Romanian man in hospital after being hit by hammer

A Romanian man was taken to hospital after he was hit with a hammer, the police said.

The incident happened in St George’ Road, St Julian’s, on Friday, at around 3.15pm.

According to police a 35-year-old Romanian and a 45-year-old Colombian went to St. Julian’s Police and alleged that they had been assaulted by another man.

Shortly afterwards another 35-year-old man entered the station and claimed he had been attacked by two men.

Police report that the Romanian man was bleeding and an ambulance was called to take him to Mater Dei Hospital.

Further investigation by police revealed that the men had been involved in an argument in St George’s Road and the Romanian man was hit by a hammer.

Investigations are ongoing.
