Minister Carmelo Abela meets with children who made Christmas soft toys in aid of Dar Bjorn

Minister within the Office of the Prime Minister Carmelo Abela hosted a group of children from the St Jeanne Antide School in Gudja and De la Salle College in Vittoriosa. These children spoke about a good cause initiative they undertook in the past few weeks.

The children prepared around 100 Christmas soft toys in aid of Dar Bjorn, with the sum collected till now amounting to some €2,000. Apart from these, the children also created some recipes and baked Christmas-related delicacies.

Minister Carmelo Abela greatly commended this noble act and remarked that despite the pandemic, these children surpassed last year’s collected sum. He remarked to the children that along with their efforts, the Prime Minister’s daughter Giorgia Mae also chose to help those who may not necessarily receive a gift this Christmas with her Christmas tree gift initiative in Castille Place.

The children spoke about their experiences in school and their preparations in creating these soft toys and also how their lives evolved during the pandemic.

At the end of the meeting the children presented Minister Abela and his wife Melanie with one of the soft toys and also asked the minister to pass on another soft toy to Giorgia Mae.
