Launching of the ‘Feeding Communities: Beyond education, being human’ initiative with the aim of teaching cooking skills to children
‘Feeding Communities: Beyond education, being human’ is an initiative launched on Saturday morning at Verdala Palace. Six children from different institutions across the country have joined forces with four chefs to prepare Christmas cupcakes.
This was the first session and indeed a special one for the festive season before the start of a six-session course on the initiative of the Office of the President of Malta together with Thomas Franks Ltd.
A total of thirty Christmas-themed cupcakes were prepared, four from each child between the ages of twelve and fifteen.
While visiting this activity together with Mrs Vella, President George Vella expressed his satisfaction for this initiative designed not only to develop children’s cooking skills but also to teach them self-respect and to think more of the community around them.
The President and Mrs Vella, after following the whole process of cooking and decorating these cupcakes, thanked Thomas Franks Ltd for their cooperation and augured the successful continuation of this project in the next year.
