“As a ministry we are always looking to help and make the lives of our students’ parents easier, so we thought that even those parents who want to register their children for kindergarten should be helped, both because of this time of year. “COVID restrictions but also because we are on holidays”, said the Minister for Education Justyne Caruana during a visit to Laura Vicuna Primary School, in Għasri, Gozo.
Minister Caruana was visiting another primary school as a continuation of her series of visits to schools and institutions in all parts of the country to meet closely with educators, LSEs and students.
During this visit, Minister Caruana reminded that children who turn 3 years old by April 2021 must be registered to start kindergarten 1 next February, by Monday 4 January 2021. She said that in order to be helped parents, and the process to be facilitated, parents will be able to register their children online and more details about this process will be announced in the coming days.
The Minister for Education said that as the ministry did its best to start the school year in October and continue successfully, work is also being done for the opening of the kindergarten.
