From Monday 21st December to 4th January, children between the ages of two and eighteen can get a flu spray from the Health Centers around Malta and Gozo.
This is after Malta, for the first time, acquired twenty-five thousand spray cans so that children have the opportunity to be protected from the flu without the need for vaccination.
The chosen time during which this spray will be given to children is intended to coincide with the Christmas holidays so that as many children as possible can get it, and therefore the majority of Maltese children return to school with immunity against influenza.
Nasal spray is not recommended for those suffering from egg allergy and those suffering from immunosuppressive conditions.
The Health Centers are open as follows: Mosta, Paola, Floriana, Kirkop, Gżira and Victoria Gozo: Monday to Saturday from 10am to 7pm and Sunday from 8am to 7pm.
Birkirkara, Rabat (Malta), Qormi, Cospicua: Monday to Friday from 10am to 7pm, Saturday from 10am to 12pm, and Sunday from 8am to 7pm.
Influenza vaccine for adults is still available from all Health Centers.
