Education Minister tells President of MAPSSS, “We will continue to improve children’s experience”

“Together we will continue to improve our children’s holistic educational experience”

This was the main message that emerged from a meeting held between the Minister for Education Justyne Caruana and Glorianne Borg Axisa, the President of MAPSSS – The Maltese Association of Parents of Students in State Schools.

The MAPSSS is formed by a group of parents with the aim of acting as a point of reference and officially represents the parents of students attending state schools in Malta.

At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Caruana stated that one of the objectives of the MAPSSS is precisely what is central to its work for this sector, the collective work to further enhance the holistic educational experience of children in government schools.

“That is why your Association is very important to me, because it is a strong bridge between the Ministry and our students, and it brings together all of us to put the interest of our children, of our students. ”

Minister Caruana invited Ms Borg Axisa to submit any opinion and proposal that this Association would have to strengthen the partnership among parents, educators and Maltese Education Authorities and policy makers in this area – another goal of the MAPSSS.

The President of the Association at the meeting discussed various areas that it is currently working on and stated that he is looking forward to working together with Minister Caruana so that together with educators and policy makers, this the work will benefit all school students.

Minister Caruana thanked Ms Glorianne Borg Axisa and promised her all the support from her and the Ministry of Education.
