Gzira dropped two valuable points and slipped off top place after being held to a 2-2 draw by Sta Lucia.
One minute on the clock and Gzira got off to a perfect start when Raphael Kooh Sohna’s beat keeper Farrugia only for Sta Lucia to strike back through Rei Tachikawa and then Alan da Silva Souza whose long range shot gave Justin Haber no chance.
Gzira did level late in the game when Steve Borg needed two touch’s to put away his penalty attempt.
And deep into stoppage time Gzira were awarded a second penalty only for Borg to send his spot kick way over the bar.
A point for Gzira but the two dropped points saw them lost top spot.
