At a press conference in Castile, Prime Minister Robert Abela expressed his satisfaction with this agreement and called for us as a people to stand in solidarity and support each other in times of difficulty as is currently happening in of the pandemic.
“People still have beautiful values and what we are signing today is a reflection of the beautiful characteristics of the Maltese people who in a time of difficulty are one chain to give our support to each other,” said the Prime Minister
Dr. Abela said that the idea for this project was born four years ago when he was still a volunteer with Putin and from there he started working to get funding for it. He stated that until recently there were moments when this agreement could be violated but the government did not accept this because it believed that the health of the Maltese and Gozitan patient prevails over all other considerations.
The Prime Minister said that this agreement could materialize because the government could give its support through the Social and National Development Fund. He announced that when the agreement for the purchase of the property is signed, the Fund will pass € 5 million to Putin along with other payments that will make good the use of the apartments.
