Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects Ian Borg convened a meeting where an agreement was reached between Malta Air Traffic Services Ltd and the Malta Air Traffic Controllers Association. This happened after weeks of dispute about the great challenges that the pandemic brought on in aviation.
Thanks to this agreement, MATCA members will benefit from the working conditions they had before the pandemic. Those conditions are in a collective agreement set to expire at the end of this year, and which will be extended for two more years until end 2022. In this way, the company will have very necessary stability during a time when air traffic is slowly increasing over a number of years to what it was before the pandemic.
