New open space for the Dingli community by the Public Works Department

Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects Ian Borg visited the locality of Dingli, where the Public Works Department is carrying out an investment of more than €600,000 to create a new open space together with parking facilities near the Dingli Swallows FC pitch. The project is expected to be completed this year.

Minister Ian Borg said, “Alongside the large-scale investments we are making to see substantial improvement in the people’s quality of life, we have these community investments that are just as important. We know how important it has become to have parking facilities in any locality, but it is wonderful to combine this with an open space element. Here, we had an abandoned site that was lowering the aesthetic quality of the area and is now being transformed into an accessible garden, with indigenous trees and plants, gym equipment and car spaces. We will continue working for the benefit of our communities.”

The garden and parking area will be spread over 2,000 square metres. The parking area will have 25 car spaces and the space will be accessible with ramps and floor surfaces for persons with disability.
