The battle for the lead in the BOV Premiership was thrown wide open as table topping Balzan were held to a 1-1 draw by Sliema Wanderers.
The result means that Balzan now have a four point lead but that could be drastically reduced if second place Hibernians win their derby clash with Tarxien Rainbows on Saturday afternoon. Victory for Hibs would move them to within a point of leaders Balzan.
