Planning Authority launches €300 million masterplan for Paceville

The Planning Authority launched a consultation document for the Development Framework of Paceville.

The masterplan looks into a number of key issues, to make access to the waterfront easier, St Georges Beach more prominent and create new public spaces

Parliamentary Secretary for Planning Deborah Schembri said that Paceville seriously lacks a holistic plan. She said economic growth brings about big challenges and that is why Malta should make sure that development walks had in hand with the proper planning

Paceville is changing from a series of individual developments into a co-ordinated framework for the whole area: A Masterplan, developed by the international infrastructure and planning experts Mott MacDonald and Broadway Malyan.

The plan creates inviting public spaces. Opens up views to the sea and makes the most of the impressive coastline. It builds an iconic skyline and a real sense of place.

But most importantly, it looks at the infrastructure that is needed to deliver this plan. From a tunnel for through traffic to parking for residents.  Building capacity for electricity, power, phone, internet and waste disposal.

The public consultation lasts until November 4 2016.
