Two French canoeists were rescued by an AFM helicopter after getting trapped in a sea-cave known as the Coral Lagoon in Mellieha.
Two Red Cross volunteers who had tried to go to the aid of the canoeists also found themselves trapped in the cave due to strong currents.
All four were reported to be safe and well.
