No evidence of racket in medical visas say police

According to reports in the Times of Malta and TVM, the police have not found any evidence of abuse by Neville Gafa who works at the Ministry of Health.

Media reports during the past weeks had suggested that Libyans who wanted to come to Malta were paying bribes and that the people involved in issuing the visas were pocketing millions of euros.

Mr Gafa had been named as one of the people involved but police say that extensive investigations have not shown any evidence of illegal trading in visas.

The allegations were denied by Mr Gafa who said he had fully co-operated with the authorities.
