British High Commissioner, Robert Haydon Vernon Luke, this morning paid a farewellvisit to Anġlu Farrugia, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Parliament of Malta.
Anglu Farrugia expressed his gratitude to High Commissioner Luke for his tireless efforts, during his tenure of office in Malta, to enhance the very cordial relations that exist between the two countries.
The two discussed the effects of the majority Leave vote in the Brexit referendum held last June and also referred to the increase in tourist and trade exchanges, with the UK being the third largest trading partner.
The CHOGM, which was organised in Malta last November, and the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, which Malta will take over in January 2017, also featured in their talks
