Minister for the National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government José Herrera and Minister for Education Justyne Caruana presided over the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra and Mikiel Anton Vassalli College. This agreement will lead to further collaboration between the two entities to strengthen music education and to provide more opportunities for young musicians to become professional musicians.
Minister Herrera stated that the purpose behind this agreement is to directly involve students who are learning art and music in the world of employment. He added that through this type of collaboration, it will help to create more job opportunities for students involved in this sector.
Education Minister Justyne Caruana said that this is an important agreement because apart from the collaboration between the ministries and between the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra and Mikiel Anton Vassalli College, “With this agreement we are giving an opportunity to students beyond the school bench. This will be a wonderful opportunity for students who are aspiring to have a career in music, to also have professional experience. Through this agreement they will have the opportunity to delve into the world of professional music, to be trained by professionals and also to learn from professionals so that the experience they gain will be an asset for their future”.
