In the last few days, Malta has played host to international tenor Andrea Bocelli’s new musical project.
This project has been coordinated by the Malta Tourism Authority.
In collaboration with the Mediterranean Tourism Foundation and the Malta Tourism Authority and the MTA, Bocelli chose spectacular views in a number of locations in Malta which will form part of a project that will be launched in a few weeks’ time. This would mark another occasion of our country being promoted around the world, through music and visual arts.
Minister for Tourism and Consumer Protection Julia Farrugia Portelli welcomed Andrea Bocelli and emphasised the importance of this project for Malta as the best showcase on a cultural and touristic level. She added that Malta is promoting quality tourism and this project sends a strong signal with regard to this commitment.
Together with the Malta Tourism Authority, Minister Farrugia Portelli presented Bocelli with an award ‘Distinguished Friend of Malta’. This award was given to the world-renowned tenor for his excellent contributions towards promotion of the Maltese islands as an ideal holiday destination, while also serving as an inspiration for others to discover the Maltese islands.
During this three-day visit to Malta, Andrea Bocelli was accompanied by his wife Veronica and their daughter Virginia.
