Floriana took the lead inside ten minutes when Fernandinho’s freekick was too powerful for Mosta’s keeper Anse Ngoubi Demba.
Demba made amends saving a Franklin Sasere just on the hour mark.
Florinana made it 2-0 moments later when a Gonzalo Gamarra freekick picked out Matias Garcia who headed the ball home.
Substitute Elvis Mashike made it 3-0 six minutes from time with a close range effort inside the box.
Hamrun and Sliema trail by one point with Birkirkara fifth, three points behind the joint-leaders.
On Wednesday, Floriana take on Birkirkara, Marsaxlokk face Hamrun Spartans while Sliema Wanderers meet Mosta.
