The second phase of the Msida Creek project is about to begin, with temporary traffic routes coming into effect from 12th April, Infrastructure Malta has announced.
Drivers travelling from Valletta in the direction of Tal-Qroqq now have to take the right lane, turn with the Workers’ Memorial, and continue in Triq Mikiel Anton Vassalli.
Those travelling from Valletta to Triq il-Wied tal-Imsida have to stay on the left lane and continue in the direction of Birkirkara.
Other routes will not be affected by these changes.
Infrastructure Malta advises drivers to plan their trips in advance and follow signs on site to avoid delays. The agency also recommended the use of alternative routes when possible to reduce congestion.
The project, which started in November 2024, aims to improve the connectivity of the area through dedicated walking and cycling lanes, new roads, and a new design along the the Msida waterfront. 20% of the project is completed, just over four months after work started.
