Charles Bonello, a Fgura councillor and private assistant to former prime minister Lawrence Gonzi, is now the only candidate for the position of Secretary General of the Nationalist Party following the withdrawal of the other two candidates.
Liam Scibarras, a Santa Lucia councillor and Stefan Caruana, a member of Gudja council, both pulled out of the race to replace Michael Piccinino, who is standing down as Secretary General to contest the next general election.
