President Donald Trump has announced a 25% tariff on all steel and aluminum imports.
In recent days he implied such tariffs would only apply to Canada, Mexico and China but today he announced that all imports would be hit by the new tariff, irrespective of where they came from.
The Uk government and the EU parliament are believed to be working on proposals on how to respond to these tariffs.
Donald Trump has also expanded on his regeneration proposal for Gaza, saying he “would own it” and describing it as a “real estate development”. Asked by reporters if Palestinians could then return to Gaza, he said no, because they would have better living in other countries.
