Young people have the will and ability to work for the common good – Prime Minister Robert Abela in a meeting in Castille with Glenn Micallef

In the Castille, Prime Minister Robert Abela had a meeting with Glenn Micallef, the European Commissioner nominated by Malta. The prime minister congratulated Micallef for his excellent performance during the grilling held before a Committee within the European Parliament.
Dr. Abela noted with satisfaction that Micallef is being entrusted with an important and crucial portfolio for the present and future of the European Union. In the meeting, Prime Minister Robert Abela explained how the Maltese nominee, who has the Portfolio of Youth, Intergenerational Justice, Sport and Culture, has an important task ahead of him that works hand in hand with that of the Maltese Government, which always pushed on themes linked to reforms that gave more voice particularly to young people.
The prime minister said that our country must continue to see young people as the engine that pushes changes against the status quo and in favor of improving the quality of different aspects in people’s lives. He added that justice between the generations together with sport and culture are other important themes that the government is working on even in the Budget that he submitted to move our country to the next level, quality.
Glenn Micallef explained how he will be meeting with several young people from all the Member States, with Prime Minister Robert Abela inviting Micallef to address a meeting of the Youth Advisory Forum in our country in the context that our country is one of the Member States with a forum of its kind.
Dr. Abela said that our country continues to show with facts that it believes in young people who have the ability and the will to put forward ideas and work in favor of the common good. The Prime Minister wished Glenn Micallef every success in his future work for the benefit of Malta and the European Union.
