The Government and the Malta Union of Teachers (MUT) have reached an agreement for a new pay deal for teachers.
The MUT will now take the agreement to its teacher members for approval.
Prime Minister Robert Abela in a social media tweet, welcomed the agreement, while praising Education Minister Clifton Grima and other public officials for all their hard work.
Dr Abela said the agreement will mark a significant and unprecedented investment in the educational system and the future of Malta.
