Members of the Expert Group on Public Administration and Governance, set up by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Structural Reform support (DG REFORM), visited the Public Service Expo24 being held at the MFCC in Ta’ Qali. They had the opportunity to see in practice the progress achieved by the public administration in our country. They expressed satisfaction with the success of the public administration in our country and will take back a number of good practice experiences.
The delegation was led by Director General Mario Nava. The Group of Experts meets regularly and is meeting in Malta this week. Members are sharing good practices that continue to help the public administration. The themes of this meeting covered the design of internal and external processes including digitalisation, the skills of public officers including leadership skills, the implementation of data strategies and other initiatives.
The Expert Group is a platform to facilitate dialogue between the European Commission and Member States’ representatives in the field of Public Administration and Governance. The aim is to identify common challenges for public administration and innovative approaches to address them. This open dialogue platform allows the Commission to create synergies and tailor its support instruments to the needs and challenges of the Member States.
The delegation was welcomed to the Public Service Expo24 by Principal Permanent Secretary Tony Sultana and an official photograph of the occasion was taken.
